We partnered up with a friend of mine on the West Coast (Keira-Anne.com) to give away a deck (of your choice).

All you need to do to enter is visit http://www.keira-anne.com/2010/11/05/new-contest-vancouver-island-skateboard-culture/ and do some re-tweeting.

This is also a good time to mention we started a twitter account… http://twitter.com/thecrew_ca

Keepin it real over here! Get a free Deck or if you win and don’t want a deck you can have wheels or a shirt or I will send you some flowers or something.

News story from Push.ca

I have always loved the idea of a roof over part of a skatepark. The first time I had seen this was in Lincoln City, Oregon.

With lights 24 hours and a roof a skatepark can be used 90% of the year. The only thing that can really stop you then is wind. Even in the Prairie’s at -40 you would find kids at the skatepark if it was dry and lite. This is also a fraction of the cost of an indoor skateboard park, and much better use of funds.

Good Job NewLine and the community in Surrey, BC.

I was just watching “Thrashin’ Thursdays” on The Berrics, which I don’t normally watch, and I was pretty pumped to see Matt Beach make the cut. I got to skate with this guy a few times back in Portland. He also went to the same high school as my wife.

I love to see how many people are in love with the Okanagan Valley in BC. Growing up there I was able to see each park go in one at a time, finding street spots and ditches, then drive for hours to chill at each of them. I sure miss those days, but its great to see how many people get to enjoy them still.

This is the most amazing idea ever. I have always heard of guys bringing lights to street spots to film, but I had never thought of bringing lights to the Park.
